1VM (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a virtual machine desktop for your Mac. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Virtual machines stay on your Mac
Guest operating systems, disk images, and files you copy into a machine are stored locally, including under ~/1vm. We do not upload your virtual machines or their contents to our servers. QEMU runs as part of the app on your computer.
Free use
The free plan does not require an account. You can download 1VM and create one virtual machine without giving us your name or email address.
1VM Pro and Google Sign-In
A Pro subscription is linked to a Google account so it can unlock unlimited machines on the Macs where you sign in. When you sign in, we receive the profile information Google shares for that sign-in, such as your name, email address, and profile photo, plus a token we use to recognize the account.
We use that information to:
- Create and restore your 1VM Pro subscription
- Show your signed-in account in the app
- Sync subscription status across your devices
Payments
Pro is billed at $1/month or $10/year through Stripe. Stripe processes your payment details. We do not store your full card number. We keep the subscription status Stripe reports to us, such as whether a plan is active, the billing interval, and identifiers needed to manage or cancel the subscription.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain 1VM and 1VM Pro
- Process subscriptions, cancellations, and refund requests
- Respond to support messages you send us
- Troubleshoot the subscription service
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with providers that help us run Pro: Google for sign-in, Stripe for payments, and the host that runs our subscription backend. Those providers process data under their own terms.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request.
Data retention
Subscription records are kept while your account is needed to operate Pro, and for as long as we must keep them for billing, refunds, or legal obligations. Local virtual machines remain on your Mac until you delete them. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete a subscription record on our servers.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect subscription data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Use the free plan without an account.
- Sign out of Google in the app.
- Cancel Pro in the app or through the Stripe customer portal.
- Delete virtual machines and uninstall 1VM from your Mac.
- Ask us about your subscription data through the contact page.
Children’s privacy
1VM is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of 1VM after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
